Grow Assembly

An all-day conference with TED-style talks from hospitality-industry leaders is coming to Fitzroy Town Hall. It will give future hospitality professionals valuable industry skills, and this Grow conference’s focus is community.

The line-up of speakers includes Maria Canabal (co-founder of international women’s food platform Parabere Forum); Hannah Coleman (co-founder and general manager of Scarf); Ninna Larsen (founder of Reground); Luke Burgess (travelling chef and owner of Rocky Tops Farm); Jake McKeon (founder of Coconut Bowl); Mal Meiers (chef and founder of Food for Thought); Wenda Donaldson (Victorian director of Australian Red Cross); and TV personality Matt Preston.

Grow presents a new approach to personal development covering emotional and technical skills such as offering good front of house service, writing and sticking to a budget, managing a team of chefs with different skill sets, and promoting your business to the right people.

While you’re there, enjoy morning tea by Q Le Baker, Cobb Lane, Loafer BreadHunted & Gathered and Beatrix, with coffee from Square One Coffee and specialty tea by Somage. Get lunch by AnchovyJinda Thai and Miznon, too.
