Off the Grid – an environmentally conscious arts, music and ideas festival – returns to the forecourt of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art.
The event is designed as an opportunity for Melburnians to think differently about the future and flip the script on the status quo when it comes to the planet and the way we live on it.
The event includes a program of talks called The Palimpsest, which will include talks from CEO of Moreland Energy Foundation Alison Rowe; founder of organic basics label Vege Threads Amy Roberts; and Erin Rhoads from Australia’s popular eco-lifestyle website about zero-waste living The Rogue Ginger.
Expect music performances by Jay Daniel (US) Chee Shimizu (Japan) and 19-year-old singer KAIIT.
Krakatau, Two Steps on the Water, Ben Fester, Jaala Vs Man, Dianas, Toni Yotzi and SOMA will also perform throughout the day using a sound system connected to a battery bank and solar power.
The festival food line-up include rice dishes and ferments from Rough Rice, and organic and ethically sourced produce from Fresh Fork Catering. Milne’s Zero Waste Bar, Storm in a Teacup and Coffee by Cam’s will provide drinks.
Starts at 9am.
