Flinders Island Food and Crayfish Festival

Some of Australia’s most respected chefs; David Moyle (Longsong), Mark Labrooy (Three Blue Ducks), James Viles (Biota), and Matt Stone and Jo Barrett (Oakridge) will come together for an inaugural long-lunch at Flinders Island.

Sommelier Alice Chugg (Ettie’s) will also join the team who will spend five days sourcing local ingredients, diving and foraging the island ahead of the lunch on April 14 next year.

The festival is open to just 100 “off-islanders” who are, of course, encouraged to dress in cocktail attire. There’s one condition though: they’ll need to be barefoot. The beachside location will be announced 48 hours before the event to ensure the best-weathered spot on the island.

Local residents will also receive discounted tickets with proof of residency (enter the promotional code localfestival18 at the check out) and, a further discount if they can lend the organisers eight or more dining chairs.
